MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID training 27 and 28 AUGUST, 2010.


This 12 hour course will be delivered with the support of Marymead.



A 12 hour course for participants to learn how to provide initial support to adults experiencing a mental health crisis or developing a mental health illness. Over two days participants will discover the signs and symptoms of mental health problems, where and how to get help and what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective.

Andrew McFarlane

Andrew McFarlane is currently a Program Manager for two programs at Marymead Child and Family Centre. Connecting Kids is a school based counselling program for children aged 9 to 11 and Horizons is a home visiting family support program for families affected by mental illness. Andrew has worked for many years in child and family counselling and educational settings. He has been a Mental Health First Aid Instructor since 2007 and is a current member of the CAPACAR Committee.
