Open Space

CAPACAR hosts open space for members and other interested professionals on the first Wednesday of the month bi-monthly at the Pearce Community Centre, small meeting room, from 5.45 to 7.15 pm.

The concept of open space is that there is a theme put forward and we come together as a group of professionals and share our knowledge, wisdom and experience on this theme in an open discussion.

The group looks at this topic for the first ten minutes and if there is momentum for this topic we go ahead. If another theme becomes more important for some or all members of the group the discussion will move to this or a small group will separate off to discuss whatever they feel drawn to.

Open space is a great networking opportunity.

The cost is $10 for members and $15 for non-members.

The 2010 Open Space meetings will be facilitated by Kate Flaherty.

Psychotherapy and Counselling in Australia

How is psychotherapy in Australia different from psychotherapy and counselling in other countries? Given that much of the research in the past has taken place in other countries, how does this impact on our ideas around counselling and psychotherapy? What research is taking place here? Bring along journal articles, your experience and knowledge to share in a lively discussion on these issues.

RSVP by Monday 30 August to: office@capacar.org.au

Personal and Professional Development

In many professions it is important to undertake professional development. Many counsellors and psychotherapists believe that in our profession we also need to take care of our personal development. Join us for a discussion on how we can pay attention to our personal development as counsellors.
