CAPACAR represents the interests of counsellors and psychotherapists in the ACT.

Member Benefits:

    We run an active and relevant professional development program (PDP) with 4-6 networking and professional development activities annually.
  2. Standard setting & ethics Public confidence in our profession is safeguarded by the expectation that members abide by the CAPACAR Code of Ethics. Download the Code of Ethics here.
  3. Marketing & promotion We assist members to promote their services by networking with others (a potential source of referrals), making PD presentations and participating in committee work.
  4. Professional & community standing We are the only Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) registered association based in the ACT. The Executive Committee has forged productive relationships with the ACT Government and bureaucracy to promote the values and professional standing of the Association.
  5. National policy role CAPACAR is a constituent member of PACFA. We play an active role at the annual PACFA general meeting and in national policy formulation for our profession.
  6. Link to national registration In order to become a member of the PACFA Register - the highest form of recognition available to counsellors and psychotherapists in Australia, you need to belong to a participating Association.
